ARTIFICIAL INSEMINATION WITH DONOR SPERM (AID)

Donor sperm insemination is an alternative for couples with male factor infertility unresponsive to other treatment methods and for women who do not have a male partner.

The insemination is timed using an ovulation kit or ultrasound monitoring of ovulation. It is a simple procedure done in our office. We pass a small catheter through the cervix (mouth of the womb) and place the sperm inside of the womb. It takes less than 5 minutes to complete and very rarely causes discomfort. The patients rest for 5 minutes and then they can resume normal activities.

Although we have an established history with several sperm donor banks, patients may choose donor sperm from any certified sperm bank in the country. The donors from these banks have been screened for several hereditary and infectious diseases.
